Titan Airways are proud to have flown home a team of UK search and rescue specialists and 4 search dogs from Gaziantep in south east Turkey. The team had been supporting the international emergency response to the devastating earthquake that struck the region on 6th February.
The flight operated by one of our A321 aircraft, G-POWN, was arranged on behalf of the UK government’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office by air charter broker Air Charter Service.
The UK International Search and Rescue team, made up of firefighters and staff from 14 fire and rescue services from across the country, equipped with state-of-the-art detection and recovery kit, had been deployed to the region in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake to locate survivors.
As a small token of appreciation for their lifesaving work, the aircraft was met by a water canon salute on arrival at London Stansted on Tuesday February 15th.
