It gives you opportunities that you won’t get with any other airline, probably in the world. One day you could be doing short haul stuff for package holiday customers. The next day you can be doing long haul for V or VVIP passengers. It’s incredibly diverse and exciting for all of us here.
I enjoy the family environment at Titan. It’s not a big company and it’s much appreciated when course leaders drop a text to wish you luck on your training. Inside a year I’ve made some firm friends.
I’ve been lucky enough to have been involved in some recruitment this year. And the biggest thing that came out of that, every time we were speaking to the new people coming in, was what they wanted was that family feel. It made us very proud to say that you’re not just a number here. Everybody knows who you are.
At Titan I have always felt able to step up and challenge myself. When the role of guest experience manager came up, I knew it would be demanding, but I took it on and jumped in, and I am so pleased I did. I have learned more about myself in the last seven years here than at any other airline. I have learnt to trust my instincts, prepare for the unexpected and to always remember to look after my team, as they are the best bunch of people.
For engineering Titan is one of the best places to go to because of the variety of work that engineers get involved with. So, starting off as an apprentice to work your way up to a fleet support engineer or, in my case shift supervisor. There is a big scope for progression and a lot to get involved with and get excited about.
Aviation is an industry forever moving and evolving so you never get bored and there is always being something new to learn. And engineering is a great career to get stuck into due to its combination of mental and physical challenges. Titan is such a small company that it feels like a well-knit family with everyone knowing your name. I am very grateful that Titan has been my introduction to aviation.
I love the variety and the unique complexities of what we do. When I attend industry events, other airlines are often in awe of our unusual operation and want to know how we do it! I tell them it’s the people that make Titan tick. I am lucky enough to be part of the best team in the industry, which makes it easy to come to work.
I have been at Titan for more than a quarter of a century! It’s evolved and grown massively since I started but, even as big as Titan is today, everyone still has a chance to have a voice, learn something new and make a difference, whilst still feeling part of the Titan Family. And for that I am forever grateful.
